Colour Trends for Autumn 2017
With the Autumn season upon us and the cooler, shorter days ahead, it’s time to take a look at the key colour trends which will give your home the seasonal refresh it needs.
This season is bursting with earthy tones (think ochres, burnt oranges and rich reds) bringing a sense of warmth and comfort.
Explore the trends below:
Autumn trends are all about adding warmth to interiors and muted, more sophisticated tones like ochre do perfectly. This colour is bright enough to attract attention and soft enough to add warmth to a room as well as complimenting other tones such as dusky greys and midnight blues. Have a look at our latest geometric inspired Infinite Scope collection or Tuscany Ochre.
With terracotta making a comeback in 2017, it’s no surprise that earthy tones such as rusts, gingers and warm spices are a key trend for Autumn. Burnt orange reflects the rich tones of leaves as they change colour and will add the perfect contrast to soft greys, rich teals, darker woods and natural fabrics. Our classical 3D border Sierra rug is a great way to introduce rust to your home.
Natural colours such as mink and taupe are all about getting back to basics. As the perfect grounding neutral, taupe makes a great foundation for those that love to add darker shades or brighter accents through accessories such as vases, cushions and art. Blending grey with earthy browns, this creates a wonderful balance of cool and warm. With Dulux announcing Heart Wood as the colour of the year, it’s no surprise that Taupe is set to be a key colour for 2018. Take a look at our latest collection, Serenity.
4. Warm Greys
Grey is here to stay this Autumn! Pair warm greys with accents of your new favourite season’s colour to create a sophisticated and sumptuous look. Grey is very versatile and will compliment just about every other colour palette which gives it a timeless appeal. Add texture to your home with a grey Sherwood shaggy.
Strong accent shades work well with this seasons colour palette. Reds will brighten up autumnal schemes and work well alongside earthy ceramics and pale greys. Combine our hand carved Abstract Collage red rug with neutral furnishings to create a statement in your home.
