Flair Foundation sponsors girls dormitory in Kenya
Flair Foundation and Flair Rugs has partnered with Amara Charitable Trust – who work to help children, families and communities throughout Kenya – to sponsor the creation of a girls dormitory in the Masai region of rural Kenya.
Empakasi Boarding School needed a good quality dormitory to help girls in the surrounding areas stay in education. The pressures on the girls in their early years of education to drop out were great due to local customs and traditions. Often the girls who dropped out would normally be married before being expected to do household chores. If the girls stayed in a dormitory the chances of retaining them in education would be much higher.

Thousand thanks for making it happen! pic.twitter.com/jjb9iz0uYB
Ensuring young girls have a good education will help future generations as they pass on their knowledge to their offspring. We are pleased to announce the dormitory is now open and will make a significant difference to girls in the Masai area.
At Flair we are very proud to have sponsored the dormitory for girls in memory of our founder, Dinesh Shah’s mum, who had a great passion for girl’s education.
