Pantone Colour of the Year 2016
Each year, the colour experts at Pantone release a colour of the year. The chosen colour is nearly always to be found in all kinds of goods from furniture to wallpaper and of course, rugs!
This time, Pantone have nominated two colours together, a light pink and a light blue or as Pantone refer to them, Rose Quartz and Serenity. There's a great explanation of why they think these colours are on trend over on the Pantone website and you can read all about it here. We thought this bit was particularly interesting:
Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace
That sense of peace and balanced tones is exactly what you get with our Rosella rug (pictured right). With a combination of these on trend colours and tones, geometric moroccan patterning and 100% wool pile - we think this could be the rug of the year. Although it would work well in most rooms, we think it is very suited to bedrooms.
