MARCH, 2020

We’re ditching the far-flung trips in favour of the Staycation and we think you should too!

Vacations are in theory, suppose to be relaxing, but planning, preparing & packing can leave you feeling more stressed than ever!

As most of our travel plans are on hold, we think you should keep your bags unpacked and follow our six top tips to turn your home into a heavenly retreat you can enjoy.

1: Clean the house and clear away clutter

Before you can truly relax you need to address any mess…remember how it feels walking into a spotless hotel room with no clutter to be seen – Absolute bliss!

Make your haven hygienic by dressing your space with easy to clean Polypropylene Rugs! Who doesn’t love a deep clean every once in a while, it is Spring after all! Remember to tidy up any unsightly shelving, invest in good storage and free your house of mess.

  1. Tweak your textures

The ultimate zen experience is when your soft furnishings play with your senses and are a perfect balance between hard and soft textures.

Layer your flooring with soft touch rugs, or deep pile options for the ultimate luxurious feeling under foot. You can even add soft items like faux fur to your favourite sofa or armchair too!

  1. Blend the boundaries between indoor & outdoor.

We’re (sometimes) blessed with a few dry days here in the UK! Take advantage of this by taking your living space outside, throw open the patio doors and dress your garden area with outdoor rugs and comfortable seating (and maybe invest in a heater too!)

You can create a the perfect space for home schooling the kids in the garden or simply use the space for a much needed breath of fresh air.

  1. Style with Shapes

When we’re stuck in our own four walls we forget about the endless possibilities of interior design.

Shapes are a great way to accessorize and if you are looking for something inviting then opt for circles. These can help to create positivity and calmness in the home.

Try an accent rug, some new candles, cushions and even treat yourself to a new coffee table.

  1. Refill your favourite refreshments

A staycation isn’t complete without your favourite drink in hand!

Invest in a trendy bar cart and stock up your trolley with day time tonics and evening aperitifs.

6. Get a Good Nights Sleep

There is nothing nicer than crawling into a freshly changed bed after a crazy day at home with the Family.

Select your best bedding for the ultimate luxurious feel, plump up your pillows and turn down the lights. Make sure you have something soft to snuggle into by adding a faux fur throw on the bed, and don’f forget the soft-touch rug! So your feet land on something sumptious when you wake up!
