Creating an Office Oasis

MARCH, 2020

Moved the office into your dining room? So have we!

Whether you have your own swanky in-house office, or you double up your dining room table as your new HQ, it’s important that your new at-home working space keeps you inspired and focused. Here are some of our Flair top tips for creating your own Office Oasis.

Get Inspired in Isolation

Sitting within the same four walls can be a drag, so liven up your space with some artwork or colour.

Spring is coming so we recommend adding some outdoor energy to your space. We love green to keep us feeling fresh and focused when working from home, with the calming shade promoting restfulness, add some house plants and natural fibres such as jute or cotton to keep some inspiring textures underfoot.

Go with the Faux

Eight hours is a long time to be sat at your desk, so make sure you inject some comfort into your space.

Whether you sit on it or stand on it, we love Faux Fur for adding a glam yet cosy style into your space. With a thick Faux Fur underfoot, you’ll never want to leave your desk.

Partner your Faux Furs with luxe metallic accents to create a fashionable and ethical office you just won’t want to leave.

Keep the Peace

Kids at home? Driving you up the wall?

Make your office a sanctuary by keeping the little ones occupied elsewhere, set up a cosy reading corner or make them their own makeshift classroom to keep their minds busy and your mind focused.

We love using bright tactile rugs to define their own play and learning space.

Normality Rules

Breakfast bar. New HQ. Homework central. Dinner time. Your dining room is going to get a lot of action over the next few months, but it’s important to keep some normality. Clearing your dining room table and storing your work every time you use the table will keep you and your family in a healthy routine as well as encourage some collaborative working.

Take a Break

Just like you would at work, it’s important to take regular breaks and get your eyes off the screen.

Use your lunch break to have some time to yourself or with your family. At Flair we love to keep fit and now running club is cancelled we’ll be using our lunch breaks to keep fit, we recommend taking a walk or doing some family exercise outside to keep your legs moving and your hearts pumping.
