Semi-Plains: This season’s big wool trend!

07

OCTOBER, 2019

“The semi-plain is really coming in at the moment.”  Our designer Miriam knows what she’s talking about and she’s not wrong about this!

It’s National Wool Week, and we can’t talk about wool without talking about our favourite wool-trend. This season is all about the Semi-Plain. If you’re not ready to fully commit to a bold, graphic rug but want a plain rug with a little something extra, this is the trend for you. We’ve got a huge range of semi-plains, so we’ve picked out a few of our all-time favourites to give you some #HomeInspo!

The semi-plain style is on a sliding scale from ‘pretty plain’ to ‘a bit more bold’, so to start ourselves off let’s keep it classic with our Tuscany Design. If you want to stay as plain as possible the Tuscany rug will use it’s on-trend colours to compliment you space without demanding too much attention. In 100% dense wool the Tuscany is perfect for contemporary living with its natural warmth and sound insulating quality – maybe the perfect present for a noisy upstairs neighbour?

If you don’t want to play it completely safe, test out the Sierra design. An updated version of the classic Border design, the pile is hand-carved to create a high and low effect to add depth to the design. Step away from the classic oblong with a circle or square to make your new rug a conversation piece.

It has all the traditional properties of a pure wool rug, dense, soft and warm, but the Gigi is anything but traditional. Our boldest semi-plain design uses the skilfully crafted ‘cut-and-loop’ technique to create a bold geometric design, perfect for modern spaces that want a subtle statement. We can’t get enough of the on-trend Ochre shade to bring all eyes to the design.

Check out our Stockists Page to see where you can sink your feet into one of our semi-plain wool designs.
