FLAIR RUGS has a legal obligation under consumer protection and product safety legislation to sell safe products.
FLAIR RUGS recognises that the activities and services operated can have a potentially negative effect on the environment. Our objective is to identify, monitor and reduce any direct negative effect we have on the environment.
FLAIR RUGS is committed to the fair treatment of all employees linked with the company all over the world. To ensure this is achieved it is our policy to source products from suppliers who share our commitment to improving employees welfare.
FLAIR RUGS expect our suppliers to pay their part in ensuring that the companies objectives are met, and we the company will support them in achieving those objectives.

ETHICAL AND SOCIAL STANDARDS AUDITS

We at FLAIR RUGS expect our suppliers to play their part in ensuring the company objectives are met, to achieve this we may require to carry out an ethical & social compliance audit on your factory.

STANDARDS FOR SUPPLIERS

  • Employment is freely chosen
  • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
  • Working conditions are safe and hygenic
  • Child labour shall not be used
  • Living wages are paid
  • Working hours are not excessive
  • No discrimination is practised
  • Regular employment is provided
  • No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

 

FLAIR RUGS or any 3rd party representatives acting on their behalf, reserve the right to inspect your factory, without notice, to ensure compliance of the above standards. Factory management will be expected to action all recommendations, as noted and agreed, on the on-site report. Denied access or entry, withholding documentation, denying interviews, or withholding of information are considered serious violations.

FACTORY EMPLOYEE TREATMENT & CONDITIONS

FLAIR RUGS is committed to the fair treatment of all employees linked with the company all over the world.  To ensure this is achieved it is our policy to source products from suppliers who share our commitment to improving employees welfare.

Wages and hours of work

All workers must earn the minimum wage consistent with industry standards and/or local/regional laws.

  • All hours worked must be accurately recorded and compensated on time.
  • Weekly working hours must meet local law requirements.
  • Overtime must be voluntary and paid at a premium rate as specified in national law or industry established practice.
  • Deductions from wages should only be those allowed by law and there should be no deductions for disciplinary measures.
  • At least one day in seven should be a rest day.

Child labour

  • All workers should be 16 years of age or above.
  • Young person’s up to the age of 18 should not work at night or on tasks that are potentially hazardous to their health.

Conditions of employment

  • All workers should be working of their own free will, and there should be no forced labour of any kind.
  • Identity documents should not be held by the employer and there should be no monetary deposits of any kind to secure employment.
  • All workers should be able to leave of their own free will, without fear of monetary loss.
  • Workers should not be subject to any physical or verbal abuse, sexual harassment, or any form of
  • intimidation.
  • Discrimination of any kind is not acceptable.

Health and Safety

  • Factory workplaces should be safe from risk of harm from hazardous activities with provision of safety equipment, training and safe factory infrastructure.
  • Workers should have access to fresh and clean drinking water, at all times.
  • All toilets should be clean and hygienic.
  • If accommodation is provided it should be clean and hygienic, provide individual privacy, as well as food storage and preparation facilities.
